Richard, I only just learned of your passing. I always thought I would go back to capoeira and you would be there teaching. I am so sad to know I won't see you again. You were a beautiful soul and I loved our conversations. I always looked out for when you were about to play in the roda and tried to play with you. I liked to play with you because I knew you were kind and polite and wouldn't hurt me too much! I also remember your talent as an actor. We practised audition monologues once and you had a beautiful energy as a performer and the loveliest voice. How blessed I am to have had that experience with you. I'm so sad to know I won't see your beautiful smile again and hear your little chuckle. I can picture you now, your arms crossed, laughing. I hope you are in peace. I feel enormously blessed to have known you and I feel like you are still here with us.

Richard sang beautifully, and he would fill the high cielings of the Museum with the sound of his voice
