Reg Walker was a true gentleman; a great church man; a person of clear vision for justice and community; and always with a smile and a gleam in his eye. For me he was a strong friend and wise counsellor. As one might say - "a father figure". Reg was the Chair of the Wesley College within the University of Syndey. An association he had held with the College since he himself was a student there. I was the newly appointed principal. We would have regular meetings at the Library cafe in Macquarie St - just over from his rooms. He would always order a doluble shot coffee! He was generous with his time, and would offer good advice and encouragement. My family would enjoy our visits to his beloved Tanglewood, and even on one occasion to the "cow bails" of Comboyne! I have many abiding memories of Reg Walker. He will be missed. We give thanks to God for his life and his service in so many different fileds of endeavour. We remmber at this time Beth and all of the family. Rev Dr John Evans
