I never knew Ms. Pumphrey but I still enjoyed the times I spent with the children. They were all my bestfriends for that short period of time. I miss them all and was incredibly distraught when I heard the news. I don't know words that can express my sorrow, I am happy I found this page it atleast gives me alittle peace knowing that people still remember and care about these precious people who were taken so abruptly. I miss them terribly.

I was watching the news tonight and just found out about Gail, 2 plus years too late. I graduated from Mervo in 1982 with Gail and later worked with her part time at Gunning's. I am in shock!! Gail was without a doubt one of the kindest people that has ever touched my life! I'm so sorry that I didn't find out until now, however please let me know about any fundraisers you may have in her honor. The world lost a wonderful person, known to us as Kind Gail.

Gail came over to have dinner with her brother and I when we were all in our late twenty's before the kids started coming. I was just making spaghetti and she wanted to bring something over for dinner. Salad would be nice. Man she had red lettuce, spinach, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, mushrooms, everything in that salad. It was in a see through Tupperware container and she kept shaking it. I asked her why do you keep shaking the salad. She replied I am tossing it. It is tossed salad. We burst out laughing together. She is something!! And always will be in the hearts and minds of everyone that knows her.

Gail was a friendand teammate of mine, during high school and college. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We lost touch after college. I never met her children, but know that with a mother like her they would have to be great kids.

David was a quite but studious kid in the class with my son in the Magnet program at UES. I met Gail in the school from time to time and enjoyed talking with her about school projects and field trips. She became polular class room helper with her friendly disposition and soft spoken words. This was a close knit group of kids and David was a good friend, active project partner and carpool buddy for the field trips to my son. We miss all of you. You are in our thoughts and forever be in our memories. Gail, I miss you a lot and your smile. May angles hold you in haven.

One of the things I remember about David was that his favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He and I would exchange baseball cards. I think his favorite player was Jim Edmonds. David was really nice, and kind of shy. I will miss him.

David was one of my best friends. We went to school together for first and second grade. Although we went to separate schools in third grade, we continued to talk and see each other even when he moved to Howard County last year. David enjoyed playing video games ( Lego Star Wars and Madden 2005 were his favorites), playing sports with his neighbors and friends and watching his favorite football team the New England Patriots dominate all the other teams. David was a great, once in a lifetime friend. You could always rely on him to do the right thing. I loved David as a friend and know that he and his family are all in a better place.

Gail was a joy to work with at Usairways. I flew with her several times. She spoke of her children often. She would call them often during trips. She shared some of her family life with me on one of our trips. I encouraged her to stay strong, to rely on her faith and to know that God has her and the children in the palm of His hand. I'm truly glad to have known her. It was a pleasure to work beside her.

David was my classmate from first grade through fifth grade. We weren't very good friends but I did know many things about him. I remember that he was quiet (except when he was with his boy friends) and he was very sweet. He also never liked chocolate! That's not very important but whenever someone brought in chocolate sweets for their birthday-they usually brought vanilla sweets- for David! That's because we were all close as a class and we loved him.

Gail and I shared many conversations about her life situation, her children, and work. I admired her strength in the face of such constant adversity and respected how well she was able to conduct her professional life in spite of the emotional hardships that continued to be placed upon her. Her love for her children kept her going and helped her to smile throughout the days. We had seen each other recently and she was so happy about how well the children were adjusting to their new school and surroundings, and that they had gotten good grades. We both said that maybe (just maybe) things were finally turning around a bit for them. Oh Gail, how could we have known?? May the abundance of God's love surround you and your dear children forever and ever in heaven where there is no hurt or injustice, just boundless peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you, her siblings and family, and may your memories of times shared together bring comfort to your hearts. God Bless you, Kathy Hayes

Gail was a great person to work with. She was so easy going, fun to be around, and she loved showing you pictures of her childern. I will always have fond memories of Gail. It saddens me to think that gail will no longer be here. That you will no longer see her smile,or hear her voice. May she be at peace with her childern. We are sorry for your lost, may God hold her close to your hearts.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gail through our children's sports. My husband coached David and I coached Meagan. Gail became a friend and we even ran our first tri-athlon together. We decided to do it about a week before the event. She was just that kind of person! Full of life, fun loving and best of all she loved her kids more than anything. I love you Gail, David, Meagan and Brandon!! Thank you for blessing me/my children with your friendships!

Gail was a beautiful, caring, loving mother. Gail was not only a co-worker at USAiways but a friend outside of work. We shared many stories of divorce and raising children as single moms. We were a great comfort to each other. Gail, I will truly miss you. I will miss our friendship. God bless you and your children. You will forever be in my heart.

The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops and yet it echoes on sweet refrains. For every joy that passes something beautiful remains. By Hadin Marshall There are now 4 beautiful butterflies. I will always remeber her beautiful smile.

Gail was always such a pleasure to be around. I had the opportunity to work with her this month and despite all that was going on in her life she couldn't have been nicer. The only comfort in all of this is that she is still with her much loved children. We all suffered a great loss by losing you Gail. May you and your family find peace in heaven...

I flew with Gail several times over the years back when I worked at US Airways. She was always upbeat, pleasant, and a pleasure to work with. It was plainly obvious that she loved her kids and wanted the best for everybody. US Airways and the world has lost a good person. Kurt Godwin

I don't think any of us will ever understand this tragedy. I had the pleasure of flying with Gail at BWI and DCA. I had recently been with her and am so glad I got to hug her neck one last time! She was a dear and gentle soul that loved her children and brought a gentle kindness to everyone she encountered at work with US Airways. I will never forget her kindness and sweet smile that she shared with everyone she met. My heart goes out to all her family at this time...our prayers are with you.

I remember meeting Gail years ago whilst flying for USAir. I am so sorry for this to have happened to her, her children and the family and friends left behind. She and her children are taken care of now in God's hands and her memory and love will last forever in the hearts and souls of those who knew her.

I used to fly for USAirways and have known Gail for years. We lost touch when I left the airline and moved to Richmond VA. I will never forget the fun we had together and her beautiful smile. She was a happy person and passengers loved her warm and sunny disposition. I loved to fly with her! One of my favorite memories is when a bunch of us girls dressed up as bees and went to Mark Majikas' halloween party. I will forever cherish the picturers we took that night. My prayers are for all of you who have known and loved Gail and her family. May the peace you can find in the Lord comfort your hurting hearts and may the good memories you have live forever in your thoughts.

We went to the same church, although we noticed each other we never met in church, we were matched from an online service that we both belonged to and met on Aug. 25th. She was a a great mother and I could tell by the way she spoke of her kids. We last had contact with each other just after halloween. I can never forget hearing Brandon's little voice in the back ground as I spoke with his mom on the phone. I'll miss you. God bless them all.

I fly for USAirways and had the pleasure of working with Gail years ago. She was part of a great group of friends that all shared each other's lives back then. I was stunned to see her picture on the news today. The picture brought back memories of her smile; Gail was always upbeat and cheerful and will be missed by all who knew her. May God bless her and her children and may they be happy together in His care.
