Dear Brunton Gibb Family I rarely examine Death Notices but your family name caught my eye in SMH - why synchronicities occur is forever intriguing. I doubt you'll remember me or my name even, but I came to Oz with the old Vic Co (Laurence Olivier tour) in 1948 & for various reasons remained behind after the tour to build a life here. Through all that I met Ethel Lang - especially in those old-time 'Radio' days! My very dear UK friend Michael Redington (also in that tour) kept up with your family too so I'll let him know - he's still going strong though wife Ann died recently after a sad ending to life - they were engaged when we came to Oz in 1948! I've enjoyed a fantastic time centred in Sydney - particularly meeting my present wife Ruth some decades ago for which I'm eternally grateful. I've always loved Oz life, and despite some trips back to UK, never felt to settle elsewhere. Now approaching 88, life is still beautiful. I especially loved your phrase "You Made Our Day". Long may YOUR days continue - most sincerest of wishes - John "Pip" Barnard.
