I only recently learned of Pat's passing, but remember her with great affection and great gratitude. When I started in the field of adult Aural rehabilitation in the mid-1970's, Pat provided me with much useful knowledge, and I never left her office without great ideas and great materials. She was one of the most innovative people in our field and her contribution was huge. I'm sorry that I never got the chance to thank her adequately for her immense impact on my life.
The Victorian Deaf Society, and particularly those associated with Patricia through her founding of the hearservice department of the society are deeply sadened by the passing of such a gentle, caring and person. Her contribution to this organisation will be remembered always and when we celebrate next year 40 years of the service Patricia established (hearservice), we will again and agin acknlowledge the importatn and lasting contribution Patricia Pengilley made to the provision of services to hearing loss Victorians.
