I think it is just disgusting that someone could be treated this way. And even more appauling that a beautiful, innocent child could be treated like this, by adults who should know better.
I hope Nia is in heaven, playing with the angels, with no recollection of how horrible people can be. I hope she realises that not everyone is like these monsters and that she is safe with God.
