When I was ten years old I was given Jurassic Park for my birthday. It was a place I could go to escape my parents divorce, and lawyers, and custody battles etc. I read JP eleven times in the next two years, as well as many other Crichton novels especially Congo, and Sphere. Eventually I saw the JP movie but none of the characters were as I had imagined them ha ha. I always loved his love of science and he was like a teacher to me in many ways. Thank You Michael.

Michael Crichton was the best author I have even known. My reading habit started with his books and only his books kept me going. It's his amazing way of describing complex technology via simple writing. He definitely will be missed by all and I am looking forward for this final works to be published in 2009 and 2010. Pirate Latitudes (to be published November 24, 2009) and a final unfinished techno-thriller to be released sometime in the fall of 2010

Michael Crichton is the most influential author I have read due to the fact that he wrote about what really matters today. His powerful and knowledgeable views that came from his background in medicine and physics give him a nearly exclusive ability to incorporate cutting edge advancements that will surely shape our future into thrilling novels. My personal favorites are Next, Timeline, and Prey due to these aspects. I sincerely hope Pirate Latitudes is released soon and that his unnamed techno-thriller is at least released in partial version. I'm enthralled by his ideas, and I'll truly miss getting his point of view on new technological breakthroughs.

Jurassic park started it all, changed my life. From my youngest years when i started to think , and maybe only because of this man called Micheal Crichton, i was always in love with his books and ideas. He was the one man who inspired me. I always aspired to meet him one day. Having collected all novels, my most priced possession, i will surely miss the opportunity to add another new book to his collections. There will be no other like him May you rest in paradise, content with a life inspiring many

I read Jurassic Park for the first time when I was only 12. I didn't want to at first, but my guardian angel, mom, asked me to just read the first page. I finished the book. It will always be a privilege of divine magnitude to enjoy-and learn from-his novels. We lost another good one, but at least he left behind a etherial legacy. our schools will get better when crichton's books are made part of the curriculum. him and robert kiyosaki, author of rich dad poor dad.

One of the greatest authors of the 20th century. My grandson just started his first Michael Crichton book on Saturday after I bought it for him. That evil disease cancer has infected two of my close friends who continue their battle and has take a man of great talent from us. How sad. May his family find peace in knowing he was a great man of talent and will be sadly missed by masses of people of all ages.

I remember very young seeing Jurassic Park and it made me want to start to read the source. I finally did and was drawn into the worlds in his books. My favorite to date is Prey. I will never forget the stories he's read and will now strive to collect a copy of all he's written. I will sorely miss looking for new works from him. There will never be another writer like him. And to Crichton, "Good night sweet prince, and may a flight of angels sing thee to thy rest." I will never forget the contibutions you made to literature.
