My wife and our friends we were traveling with to Italy had the good fortune to meet up with Merv and Suzanne early on our Italy tour in 2010. We had such good times together and enjoyed each others company. Our Aussie friends grew to be good friends in short order and our interests were similar. Our thoughts migrated to thoughts of coming to Australia to visit Merv and Suzanne and too pick up where we left off in Rome. Our hearts go out to the Nicol family on the loss of Merv.
