My Beautiful Big Sister, You are forever in my thoughts, through all the recent troubling times and future challenges that I have to face. Your strength and fortitude will always be a constant force in my life. As a child you and I slept in the same bed and I now cherrish those moments, before your wings were destined to spread. Your wings are forever comforting to those whom you have nurtured, wise and thoughtful beyond your years. Sister dearest I miss you greatly. Jacqueline

The first time I encountered Mrs Adams I was NOT quite fond of her and thats because I was 8 and didn understand her. It wasn until she taught me in 6th form that I then began to realise the type of teacher and person she was. I also shameful realised that I misjudged her character when I was younger because she never taught me so I didn know her as well as I should or thought I did. One of the first things I noticed about Mrs Adams was her ability to connect with someone and capture one's attehtion. She was so full life, compassion and drive especially to bring the best in her students. I always looked forward to her classes because she made learnin fun and exciting. I wished all my teachers were like her - devoted, loving, compassionate, hilarious, understanding, brilliant, altuistic etc . . . When she fell ill, I, like many others, was pretty much sure that she'd pull through up until her illness got serious. When she returned to Nevis after she received her medical treatment overseas, I was quite relieved but dishearten to learn that she had retired and had quite recuperated physically. But she remained in high spirits and keep her usual smile. I was in denial when I found out that she had passed on to eternity. I just didn want to believe that Nevis had loss another stalward teacher and generations to come wont be as blessed and priviledge to have such remarkable hardworking teacher. Am proud and I feel lucky to have been 1 out of many of her students and I know many of us truly miss you Mrs Adams but wont forget you. RIP

Mrs Adams..words can never describe you- no justification through words. You were more than a teacher to me. You reached out to your student way beyond the constraints of a classroom, you always found the time to mentor and tutor...You were indeed a borrowed Angel. I only thank the Almighty for allowing me the privilege to have encountered your kind hearted spirit ;your enthusiasm. Mrs Adams, I curse the day you left us behind but bless the day you went on to Glory. There will Never Ever be another like you; truly. You are Loved and will be missed Greatly. Your legacy will live on through the people you touched. May your Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Mrs Adams, the academic lessons you taught I can hardly rememeber but the kindness you showed I sure do remember. Though the years seemed short you did indeed play your part, even if it was just a smile to light another's heart. Cheers! Cheers! Cheers!

Mrs. Adams was not only a committed and heart warming teacher, but an inspiration to the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. As a dedicated individual and a wonderful being, she has left us all with love, courage and memories that will continue to make us laugh and smile for the rest of our lives. Her humanity reached out too many all across the island of Nevis. If you spent just a few minutes with her, you would quickly become consumed by her knowledge; humour and charity. Such was the passion and presence of Maureen Adams. If you were fortunate to have been taught by her, then you are most certainly aware of the numerous occasions that she would have sacrificed her personal plans for the sake of her students and all those who came into contact with her. Such was the heart of Maureen Adams. If you were even privileged enough to have merely glimpsed her passing by, then you would know she was a woman who conducted herself with enthusiasm and always lit up the room. Such was the style and serenity of Maureen Adams. My hope.....is that we continue to celebrate the legacy of Mrs. Adams for generations to come, by practicing the principles of hard work and sacrifice that she promoted. Our goal must now be to motivate all our young people to adopt the view, that no matter the field of endeavour that they decide to pursue, that they should strive to be a “Maureen Adams”. The young girl in Brown Hill, who dreams of becoming a doctor/nurse, must say to herself at nights “I want to become the Maureen Adams of the Medical Profession!!!” Likewise, the young man in Cotton Ground who has high hopes of becoming a lawyer must aspire to be to the legal profession, what Maureen Adams was to Education in Nevis. Let the name of this warm, wise and wholesome individual forever live on in our schools and our community.....Let her name forever be etched in the history of our Nation’s Development!!! Long Live Maureen Adams!!!.....Your life has truly been a SUCCESS STORY!!!

Mrs. Adams was one of the best teachers I've had. She cared and showed her love in many different ways. As a result, both our classroom and examination grades were outstanding. Your gone but not forgotten, may your soul rest in peace.

As a pass Red House athlete I always looked out Red House. The few times I got to the park early enough to see a few races I recalled seeing Mrs Adams rallying behind the athletes. My heart was warmed to see a teacher with so much passion, so whenever she asked for a contribution for Red House I could never say no. Mrs Adams truly put others first. I saw her at the hospital about 3 days prior to her passing and before I could greet her she greeted me ' How are you doing?' In my mind I thought, the question should have come from me because she was hardly breathing but concerned about me who was standing. I simply smiled and squeezed her hand and told her to rest. Little had i known that I would not see her smiling face again. When I think of red I think of the Blood Jesus, the sacrifice he made for us. Mrs Adams was filled with that type of blood, she lived for others and her legacy will live on. Red is not dead!

Mrs. Adams our hearts are broken forever. It is true time heals everything but tears have been falling now for so long now and when we think of your beautiful face it all seems so wrong .You had so much to look forward to and so much left to do but God needed somebody in heaven who is as special as you. Mrs Adams you have touched the lives of soo many of your students in a special way whether you knew it or not. You certainly have touched our lives. On the night you were taken from us, in the sky was a lone twinkling star, perhaps that was you telling us that you had arrived safely. We will miss your voice, your infectious laugh and your chants "Red is not dead" certainly Huggins house will miss you dearly. We your past students will miss you terribly. Some things we question and just never understand. Until God is ready to explain... sleep on Mrs. Adams, have your rest. We love you forever. Love Krysta, Hazel and baby, Nissa, Tamalyn and Niki

Maureen I dont know how to say goodbye to a smiling face like yours. U know what maybe I shouldnt I'll just say we'll meet someday in the grest beyond.U slipped away so quickly from within our grasp it was like quicksand.Though we often question why when ppl like u leave who would have offered so much and made so much great impacts on our lives I guess its all for the good so that u dont have a chance to mess up and then ppl have to think twice and so all the good is done and then u leave knowing that u were all genuine. thx for being u and I'll miss u dearly. U called me sunshine now ure free to shine. Dont worry about Kofi I'll put him across my lap and give him a spanking each time he gets out of line. Shem Hotep.

My life was sincerely touched by Mrs. Adams, first as my lecturer then from there by our friendship even to the point where I saw her as my 'mommy'. I am certainly grateful that I was blessed with the privilege of having been around her, even though the time was short. I have never seen a woman who cared so much about her students, who was also selfless and had such an almost unheard of passion for educating others. She truly lives on in my memory as a gem who ever so special and is simply irreplaceable. She has really inspired all to always believe in myself regardless of the struggles i faced and for that amongst other things I am eternally grateful. Rest Sweetly In Heavenly Peace.

Our dear Mrs. Maureen Adams it's so hard and sad to say goodbye. You were a very wonderful and warm-hearted person. You were always full of joy, always happy and always willing to help. Words cannot even begin to describe what a wonderful person you have been. We've always enjoyed spending time with you especially that last new years day you spent with us. We ate, we drank and we even took pictures. Your human form may be removed from the earth but the great memories of you will remain in our hearts. According to ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 1 to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. My dear Mrs. Adams you may not have life on earth but its your time to live in heaven. We surely do miss you. Goodbye to you and we love you. To the family we extend our deepest sympathies.

I've experienced Mrs. Adams as a teacher and someone who constantly shares words of encouragement. Her passing is so sad, so solemn, so swiftly but God always has a plan. Like this candle icon, may her spirit and light continue to illuminate the path for others. I Wish you an eternal, peaceful rest.

Lost in the dark no where you can be found, I search high and low, I kept looking around; But we won't give up we must not give into the fight, March 27th you slipped away in the night; Got the news in the morning, couldn't believe it; I said to my mother no not miss Adams she just would not quit; I yelled, I screamed and i cried, because I just could not understand why That vibrant human being, that breath taking smile, that bueatiful face that could be seen for a mile; She is gone forever never to speak or to be seen here on earth again; But I just can't say goodbye this cannot be the end; The last words that i said were take care and i love u mommy; she replied by saying,'oh I love you to cherise.' I just cannot believe that was our last phone call, No not then nor at all; Mom was my name for you because you helped raise me as your very own daughter; Having three boys was good and all, but my mom just missed that extra touch of a girl; It's growing close to the end and I don't want to say good bye, however I must do that and just simply cry; But before I go let me just say Miss Adams has and will continue to impact my life in a very big way; I just can not see how God could create and take away such an angel, who came to earth with a big heart and do good as well; But you know what the Bible say's the lord giveth and he taketh away, so i guess he missed you being by him as well; I miss and I love you, I always have and I always will; So fare well, see you again, hasta la vista all the words I can find find to simplify goodbye; However no words are good enough to explain what I feel inside; Its just to much tears, love, questions all wrapped in one; I can not go on any more, so finally i am done. May you rest in peace.... Good bye for now until we meet again. My deepest sympathy to the Adams family.

My Tribute to Mrs. Maureen Adams Meaningful Adorable Unforgettable Redalicious…. (“;)… “Red is not dead” Enthusiastic Energetic Never Ending Love Affectionate Dear Amazing Marvelous Sincere Rest in peace, Mrs. Adams, rest in peace, Eternally, essentially at rest. Sleep the sleep of those who do not dream, The dark recollection that knows no pain. Interred within my heart, you will remain Neither fixed nor flowing with the stream, Part me, part you, part teacher by angels blessed, Embraced by those in whose arms sorrows cease. All my wakeful nights, my days distressed, Called to account, your slumber will redeem, Even as you rest peacefully. By: Corissa T. L. Griffin

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. Colossians 3:23-24 Maureen was one such person, she gave unselfishly. She was never too busy to help anyone. Her smile, kind words, dedication touched everyone she came into contact with. May the angels smile upon her. We will miss you dearly. My deepest condolences to the family

People talk like you’ve left but I know you’re still here Because the values you preached, I still hold dear. You were always so professional, hard to tell when you were blue The truth is – I wish more teachers were just like you! As a teacher you showed dedication As a coworker – determination As a mother your commitment was multiplied by two And that’s why I wish for more people like you. I remember the days of high school – the sports term to be exact! From the moment the whistle blew, it was no turning back. You cheered for your students from green, red, gold and blue If only there were more teachers as supportive as you. I have so many fun memories of times past with you From the “map colouring” assignments to the “red is not dead” sign you drew. There was never a dull moment in all the years I’ve known you And that’s why I wish others were just like you. As some mourn your passing, I say congrats and well done… For the inspiration you gave to mothers, fathers, daughters and sons. You’ve touched our lives but now there’s work to do Hopefully, some teachers took pattern from you! By Jáedee S.K. Caines

As I think about what to write all that comes to mind is the fun moments that I had in her presence. From my days in sixth form to LIDC in Antigua to working with her at KFAS. There was never a dull moment when Mrs. Adams was around. Rest In Peace, you are gone but will live on in our hearts forever.

It is with the greatest of emotion that I pen these words... Mrs. Adams was indeed a teacher that had passion behind the "chalk".. She did not just teach, but she inscribed a piece of herself in my life, as well as her other students.. Her loving and carefree spirit proved to be an inspiration to all those who knew her. She was never too busy to help with school projects... and most amazingly, she always did it with a smile.. Her obligation to her students spaned far beyond her working hours... it was clear to see that she was one that lived to lend a helping hand... Though you are gone from this earthly realm.. your memory will live on...Truly God has picked the best rose from his garden. My deepest sympathies to her family.
