My name is Suzanne Bell (formerly Sloss, nee Shaw). I worked with Marjorie at Ampol Petroleum when I was in my early 20's, over 30 years ago. She was a lovely lady and so much fun to be around. We kept in contact over the years and she travelled to visit my family and I on a couple of occasions. I last spoke to Marjorie late in 2010 and have been trying to contact her for what would have been her 87th birthday on 9 March 2011. I am so glad I have found out what has happened to her as her phone was disconnected and I tried phoning every other de la Mare in the Sydney phone book. I live in Christchurch New Zealand. Marjorie travelled to my first wedding in Christchurch in 1984 and I have always looked at her as my second mother. She always told me when I spoke to her that her unit in Punch Street was a memorial to our family, especially my only son Andrew as she had our photos everywhere. We met up with her on many occasions when we were in Sydney, however, the last time we were there, she didn't want to see us as I guess she just wasn't feeling like her usual self. She said she hadn't had her hair cut for a long time and knowing Marjorie, she would have always wanted to look her very best. I would love to speak to a family member to see how she was near the end of her life.
