I have fond memories of the whole Wollan family from my childhood. We lived in the same block of flats in Westbury Street and I would visit them often. I remember the late Mr Wollan playfully pretending he had an invisible dog, and Mrs Wollan, who I has allowed to call Aunty Maria, always very loving and exhuberant. Fast forward forty years..... I was with my husband who is a chess player and had entered a competition in Ballarat. To my surprise and delight I reconnected with Aunty Maria who was with her friend, Jacque Englander , attending the same chess tournament. Although the years had passed I recognised her immediately- still very loving and full of spark. I was very grateful that I had met up with her after so many years - she was a very special person. To Mark, David and your families I offer you my heartfelt condolences at this sad time.
