I can't imagine how frightened Maria must have been, not just for herself, but for the child she carried. I know Maria and her child are now safe and at peace...so, I pray for her family. God bless. Also, the day will come when justice will be received for her and her child.

You can't run and hide from him.Stay strong and hold on to your FAITH b/c you will see her and the little one again one day. She is holding the little one and looking down upon all of you. When you feel the sun shining upon you, shes smiling and letting you know shes o.k. "As a mother of a child taken from me at the hands of another human being, my sincere thoughts and prayers are with Maria's family and friends. To: Laurean...if you were any type of Man or Marine you would come forward and face your punishment. You type of men are Nothing...but COWARDS!! Justice was served in my child's passing, as the guilty man committed suicide, allowing me to "go on". However...there is NEVER CLOSURE. Stay as strong as God allows, and be reassured that you will again be with Maria and Gabriel for eternity.

We have known each other since kindergarten and I always remember you, me, rebecca, emily, julie, and your sisters sometimes playing kickball in allison's backyard. I remember riding bikes all the time around the neighborhood. Climbing trees at ur house and swinging on your swings. I remember playing basketball in the neighborhood, and playing soccer. I remember you coming over and eating all of my fruit snacks :) Then in high school you came back and our soccer days were some of the best memories. Especially when you tripped on our G.T. and took out everyone behind you (it was hilarious) and our busrides home, and running out on the field together. Me and shell calling ur maria tortilla..or tort when we were lazy. I remember watching films once and you were all by urself and u turned around and tripped in the film..it was so funny i still laugh about it. Im sad that we drifted apart after high school, although it was hard for a lot of us to keep in touch. You messaged me a few months ago and it was so wonderful to hear from you, i just wish i had known what was wrong..but you toldme you were okay because you are a strong person and I know you didn't want anyone to worry. For all the things I should have done and said and all the times I wish I could have seen you, I am sorry. I love you Maria with all my heart. And I admire you for deciding to have Gabriel..I can't wait to meet him someday.

It is time to stand up for what is right in the ways the armed forces treats their troops! The government sucks since they have nothing to loose. Just another nobody that is expendible so it seems that receives no respect for the injured or death for vets from any war- past or present. The government should be held responsible for this as well as the other service man who could have been saved and still be alive if doctor had told him he had cancer but did not. I have cried for all three of you cheated out of life because something was not done when it could have been. It is time that families be able to receive compensation for wrong doings associated by the armed forces! I am deeply hurt by what happened to both you and your child. I pray for the salvation of your killer, Cesar Laurean before his death arrives. I know you and Gabriel are with Jesus now protected from the indecentcy of humankind.

My prayers are with the Lauterbach family! I didn't know Maria personally, but as a female veteran very familiar with the "process" she was going through the last months of her life, my heart breaks every time I think of your beautiful daughter and innocent grandchild and what she was going through the last months of her life. My hope for you all is that you feel the almighty peace of our Lord in which Maria and Gabriel now reside!

I really didn't know Maria all that much, but I went to CTC with her. She graduated a year after me. I just wanted to express that this is so horrible that some monster would do that to her and her unborn child. It really hits home for the simple fact that I am pregnant as well. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this, but when they find that man...I seriously hope they hang him.

Maria: Who would drive 3 some hours one way. Stand at the front door of the church in my Dress Blues. Hold the door for people to enter. When your casket passed 3 feet away from me, I held my sharp slaute and said a silent "Semper Fidelis, Maria." It is a Marine thing, no one else would understand. But we are taught in boot camp to leave no Marine behind ! God bless you, your unborn and your family. Semper Fidelis, Don Maurer Canal Fulton, OH 44614

I didn't know you personally, Maria, But I'm in your fathers aerialport unit on WPAFB. I'm an A1C getting ready to go to tech school to get my 3rd stripe. I was prior army active duty as a Military Police officer. I served in OIF in 03-04. I was assaulted by an infantryman.... The case was dropped due to insufficient ecidence and he walked free. I can only imagine the pain your family is going through right now. Just know you're in a better place right now. It's sad, you had your whole life ahead of you...I will be there at your service tomorrom to see you of to ur fluffy white clouds that awaits you. You will be missed.

My Prayer goes out for the Lauterbach family! I have a sister in the marines who was very honored to have helped with her funeral. Everyday I fear even if we don't get along that she would be safe and that no harm comes to her. God bless to Lauterbach family and I grieve with you on such a precious life lost.

May family and friends support and bless you during this tragic time. My daughter is the lone female in the Marine Honor Guard for Maria's services. I can't even begin to image the emotions you all have experienced. Please know that I take great pride in what our daughters chose to do with their lives. It doesn't matter if they are yours or not, military mothers grieve for ALL that are lost.

Though I never knew you, we had more in common than what you'll ever know. We both had blue eyes and long blond hair. We were both raped by military men. Mine planned on killing me, but yours actually did. No one wanted to believe either one of our stories. The military and the police both did their part in covering up our rape cases. Both of our rapist walked away as freed men, while they destroyed us and took your precious life and your baby's. It happened many, many years ago to me and I would have thought the military by now, would have been more concerned about the victims than protecting themselves, but unfortunately nothing has changed. I wrote a book titled, "Singled Out Part 1" that exposes this horrendous attitude of the military, in hopes of protecting rape victims. The novel was released several months ago and I hope it will improve the lives of raped victims. I will dedicate Part 2 of Singled Out to you, Maria. You were extremely brave and so misunderstood. I will never forget what you went through. You did not deserve the injustice you received from all sides. I will fight for your cause and not let your death be in vain. Your family and friends will always keep your memory alive. You will be greatly missed. What a beautiful girl you were.

I did not know you but wished I had. I am in the Air Force and wished the Marines had known more about some things, but we cannot blame them and I pray for your family that their hearts are healed in time. The justice will come and I am praying for the justice for you, your baby boy and your family. You did not deserve this tragic death.

To All Maria's family and friends, I did not know her, but have been following this story since day 1. At first I had hoped that she really did leave and would be found alive and well with her baby. My heart hurt the day that they found her remains, and I pray every night that her killer will be found and that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Always know that God will have the final say in this unspeakable act. The angels are with her and that innocent life. Justice will prevail. Their deaths will be vindicated. My prayers are for her family to help them through their grief and pain. I can't comprehend what you are feeling but know that other mothers truly care. If there is anything you need I would be glad to pray for your intercession.
