My memory of Margaret was in 1981-1982 when a bit of a country bumpkin from Tasmania visited 55 Wynnstay Gardens, Kensington. She and Patsy were wonderful to me and my sophisticated brother Geordie. Margaret organised me to stay not far away in, I think, Allen St, with Da. Of course being the aforementioned I overstayed my welcome. I always remember Margaret's beautifully modulated ``Nick we are going to have to turn you out '' when the time to find alternative digs arrived. She was interesting and engaging and I remember Margaret and Patsy telling me how they had been disappointed when they travelled to Switzerland only to find Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau covered in cloud. It inspired me to go and see them. On my trip the three mountains were perfectly clear and I remember them roaring with laughter when I told them so after arriving back from Europe. In an incident which I now find rather embarrassing, after arriving back in Tasmania, I asked Margaret if she could buy me a camera (the idea being to get it duty free) and bring it when she next came to Australia. I sent her some money and she kindly bought it for me. It was not until several years later that I wondered whether the currency had in fact moved in my favour between the time I sent the cash and when the item was purchased. Margaret of course did not mention it.
