Malcolm Douglas was a front runner in trying to protect the Kimberley from Industrialization and ruin. I hope that we can carry on his work and protect the Kimberley so it remains the pristine wilderness that we love. You did such a great job Malcolm very sad to let you go :(

We'd always planned to visit Broome and the Kimberleys in the future and to especially go to the Wilderness Park and hopefully meet Malcolm, one of my childhood heroes. We may not get to meet Malcolm when we do eventually travel to the NorthWest, but we're sure to remember him (and his dog Boondie) as we throw a fishing line in. Thanks Malcolm for the great memories you left behind for the rest of us.

'Across the Top' struck such a chord, I wanted to see that country for myself. Here I am many years later, a year into our very own adventure, following (albeit in a caravan sedately) in his footsteps. Sadly we were just about at the door of the Wilderness Park when the horrific event happened. Vale Malcolm Douglas and thanks for sowing the seed!
