My memories of Lorna will be filled with cups of tea. She loved her cuppa, anytime anywhere. I would visit her regularly and would often find her sitting on her front verandah waving to passers-by. When I came her face would light up and she would say "Oh Isabel, it's so nice to see you". Other times I would be Eileen, just names that popped into her head. And then at other times I would be Ineke (which is my name). Lorna was the grandmother of my daughter-in-law, but she became part of my extended family for many years. I miss my little chats with her. Rest in Peace Lorna.

Although Lorna (or Grandma as we fondly called her) was not my grandmother, she was nonetheless family. We celebrated al our family occasions together for many, many years. In fact, Lorna made some beautiful baby clothes for my children when they were born and even made the christening gown in which Monique and Anneke were both christened. These are memories I will treasure forever. Most of all I will remember Grandma's lovely smile, the way she always dressed so beautifully and how radiant she looked in soft shades of pink. Phaedra x
