What I remember of my Pa is that all the fun stuff we would do together or my family favorites when he would try and teach me a lesson for acting up. One of the examples was this, "Alright Nicolas, I've had enough of this, come with me." As we go outside, he grabs an axe, I am now scared, thinking whats bloody going on!? He gets a piece of wood and puts it on a tree stump, he said alright like so, pulls back his arm and then snaps the piece of wood in half with the axe. I got the idea and I was having fun instead. Pa goes, alright what do you think? This is so much fun can I do another, you could tell he said underneath his breath, Jesus Christ. Well you think that's fun get a load of doing gardening, but he got the reaction he wanted, "no Pa I don't want to do that." Let me tell you about washing your hands. Every time my brother or I came out of the bathroom, Pa would say, “Oi! Did you wash your hands?” I would say, "Yeah Pa of course " to which he replied, “Yeah? I'm not sure about that... Give me your hands." As I did, he smells them and then with one eyebrow up would say, “You sure?” I replied, “Yeah Pa!” Then I would do it again and as I came back out Pa would say, “Hey! Where you going? Did you wash your hands?” No way Pa!!! While am writing this I realized I am like my pa, I play jokes on people all the time and I do get this stupid smirk when people fall for it. I will miss you Pa, Your Grandson Nic

In 1969 I was having problems reading small print - at the request of my teacher I was required to have my eyes tested. Dad took me to the city, which was quite the treat! Firstly I got a day off school then after arriving early we wandered the famous George Street. We chanced upon one of "those" new fad juice bars which served the most bizarre thing -- carrot juice! After having confirmed my need for a visual aid, we managed to get the glasses fitted and returned home. Looking back now, I wonder if the glasses were a fashion statement or an eyesore (pardon the pun) They were pink "Dame Edna" style glasses with upturned "cat eye" corners - highly attractive! And I just loved them! I think my father had to stop himself from laughing because I just know Barry Humphrey's is one of his favourite comedians and I certainly looked like a "mini-me" version" of the Dame herself.

This is Canon by Pachelbel. I have mixed some pictures in the song to make it even more relaxing :). Enjoy and feel free to comment.
