It comes as a big surprise to me to hear about the passing of Karl. I knew Karl well during my Telopea Park High School and early university years but lost touch with him when he joined the merchant navy. He was a strong and courageous man with strong political convictions and an insightful view of the world. I knew his sister Louise, though not as well as Karl.
