I recently got in to some trouble for citing this in my Advanced Studies in Philosophy class. One of my two felllow students did understand, though, as he is also an up and comming muso. I can remember, when sharing a house with Josie in East Brighton/Moorabin, comming home in the morning from shift work and hearing the beautiful acoustic classical music that she practiced for discipline wafting from the house. But when she hit a wrong note you would hear "F***". Then the gentle music would continue. I also remember her finding me pracicing flamenco dance in the kitchen (as a hard floor is required), while a very old Luisillo recording was playing, and she said "Wow! Spanish metal!", and tried to sing along with it. Josie, you were so very lovely. I am telling people now not to wait too long to catch up with those who they care for, because a time may come sooner than expect when there is no chance to do this. Rest in peace and with my heartfelt blessings beautiful Josie.

I remember Josie from many years ago, and am now regretting not trying harder keep contact. It was just that so many people loved her there didn't seem to be much room left. But she never acted as if she was above others, and always treated everyone warmly. I only found out last week that she was gone, and stupidly posted a question somewhere about what had happened. I am very out of contact, with no TV, and engaged in quite intense studies, so not really in communication with the wider world. I feel as if a light has gone out. She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. My deepest sympathy to those who were close to her.

This is a devastating blow, i first met Josie back in 84 85 at The Jam Tin in cheltenham when we were jamming and trying to get our bands off the ground. Josie had this charisma and a great smile, i jammed with her and i loved it. She even said at the time she wished she could play like me and i thought that i wished i could play a little like her. The rest is history, Josie i will miss you! I will never forget you and thank you for making my life the better for knowing you. Rest in Peace forever girl. You always rocked! Tony Petselas

Sitting in on your music classes to the clients of MJJC will remain a highlight of my time working there. You created an atmosphere that allowed the interested to learn music rapidly. Even the easily distracted disruptive types would look on in interest at the group performance. You had respect from all, such a vibe will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
