I worked with Joe at the defunct Sydney newspaper 'The Sun' and at Radio 3AW in Melbourne. For a while he shared a flat with my wife-to-be and I in North Caulfield. He had the most wicked sense of humour and was a good friend. We lost touch when I went overseas and stayed for many years. I tried to restore contact some years ago but without success. I heard of his passing only this morning in an email from a mutual friend. So, belatedly, I mourn his passing and offer my condolences to his family and friends...
