Uncle John was a laid-back sort of guy who had a great interest in travelling and history. He and Aunty Barbara travelled a lot and whenever they came to Christchurch, New Zealand used to get in contact with me and take me out to dinner. I was thinking of him recently when I passed the old brick "bed and breadfast" they stayed in when they were here once, which has been badly damaged in the recent earthquakes. He will be missed over here in New Zealand. Sorry he didn't get to see the final of the World Cup Cricket. Thinking of you all on Thursday. Love Richard
