Jo was a dedicated and much loved teacher who is being missed by all her students and those who worked with her. I am going to miss her deep concern for others and her passion for each individual student. She was a gentle, loving person who gave of herself so generously. Judy
A few months ago I had the priviledge of spending a few hours with Jo at a 60th birthday party celebration. At the party we talked about the work Jo was so passionate about ie teaching English language and numeracy skills to adults with intellectual disability. Her true understanding of the meaning of inclusion and her belief that each student had untapped learning potential is what will forever remain etched in my memory of Jo. Also on that night Jo drove me home and we talked about our children, who are similar ages. She glowed when she shared her love and pride in their achievements. Her smile was one of a truly loving mother. Jo will always be in my heart, I was honored to have know her.
What an inspiration Jo was. The way she would light up when one of her students achieved something showed her passion for teahching and her belief in the potential of every person. Such a humble, selfless and gentle woman. She will be so sadly missed.- Carmine
I would like to say that it was a priviledge to know Jo and to share our lives as work collegues and friends over the last few years. My enduring memory of Jo is one of great courage and grace an amazing lady who always put others before herself. I will never forget you Jo and our lives are all enriched by having known you even for a relatively short time. Janet
