Fat Sax was a funny dude! One story was our junior year on the varsity football team. We played at Central in a monsoon. It was pouring. After the game I changed clothes left the locker room and was about to get in the car with my father. Fats comes running out of the locker room and asked for a ride home. My father said okay. I don't know how we missed it but somehow we didn't see him get in the car STILL DRESSED in his muddy pads. Took us a couple of days to clean that mud out of the car. All we could do was laugh and my father never forgot that and every time I'd mention something about Central he'd always ask about Sax. He was sad to hear of his passing. Another quick laugh was from our Senior year. After football practice a group of us piled into my car to go to 7 Eleven. Fats gets in the car again in full pads (I guess he didn't like to change after a game or practice). Everyone goes in to buy something from 7 Eleven. We didn't see Fats buy anything but when we all got back in the car and were halfway down the road Fats starts pulling stuff out of his pads. He had a pack of bologna, cookies, strawberry milk, etc..... We couldn't believe he was able to get all of that in his pads! We laughed about that for years. Fats you will definitely be missed bruh and you left us with a lot of memories & good laughs. R.I.P. FAT SAX.......Warren

I thank God we were able to spend the weekend of the fourth together. It had been such a long time since we had seen each other. We had soooooo much fun. Life is so valuable. I want to challenge everyone to tell somebody you love them today (with a text, a call, or even a hug) Family, fellowship and fun (a great combo). Sugarbear will definitely be missed!!!. Love ya. Well Bear God father Bernard came to DC. He was at the airport . Neal had just got in the service and just started driving. When we hit the highway . Bear told neal quit driving like a punk push this car and neal being crazy started speeding . If you could see Bear face when the cops got behind us(priceless). The cops ask neal for his papers and when he open his wallet the cop seen his service card and said you don't need a ticket. I will let you go but take it easy. After the cop left. Bear said we are not going to say another word neal do your thing. We all was scared i think thats the longest ride i ever took. The icon i choose is the last thing i seen him with on his chain. RIP

Fats, only you could be promised a bucket of chicken by coach Fulton if you produced just one sack during a game, and you came up empty. Only you could stand up during the middle of a play as the ball is being snapped and say, "that's the bama that bit me in our wrestling match." Only you could touch the lives of so many people, the way you did, and bring smiles to our faces. Rest In Peace FATS!!!!

It's sad that after all this time trying to catch up with folks from the old neighborhood, I had to hear about this. I guess sometimes we think we have more time to catch up with old friends than we really do. I wish I could have seen you bro 1 last time, but no matter what you will be remembered! To Lynn and Adrienne, you probably don't remember me, but let's catch up. I'm on Facebook.... Andrew Threat

We grew up together in the same neighborhood, we graduated together and even attended a little bit of college together and it was all memorable. I was so happy when I found you for our reunion this pass year and tearing up as I think about how long I knew you. I could say all of my life or at least since 3rd grade and all the numerous times you picked on me out of love and friendship as a child. You will truely be missed from FFK to CHS. R.I.P James. Lynn

People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. It is as though they were traveling abroad. We had a wonderful time during our 20 year reunion last year. We reminisced about the greatest winless football team that ever played at Central HS. Even though you will not be HERE with us for the next reunion I am sure you will be holding it down with the other fallen FALCONS in the sky. Sax you will be missed by many.

In March 2010 Bear surprised us for my mother's suprised party - it was great to see him - we had a great time. Bear was always full of life and joy. He was true to his name - a Big Teddy Bear. You will be missed. bridgette

I remember when Bear and I came to Wilmington for the summer and were staying with Trina and niecy.Bear was a little guy that wanted to be big. So it was raining. We slept in one room he in another room. He would yell "are you guys OK" ? we would say yes go to bed Bear. He would reply I'm not scared. All of a sudden a loud boom came and out of no where not only did Bear run in the room with us he brought the bed with him. Boy did we laugh.looooooooooooool We will miss you Big Sexy.
