I remember his excellent handy man skills and mending things in the back shed. One time when Nana & Grandpa stayed at our house he fixed many things. I remember Grandpa bought an exercise bike which he used to help his asthma. I remember sitting in the sun room hearing stories of Grandpa building the Harbour Bridge, his travels to Queensland and catching rabbits as a young man. I remember as a kid Grandpa would grab my nose and pretend to pull it off then hold his thumb in between his fingers. I thought he really did pull my nose off!

I only met my grandpa a few times. I remember his face, his asthma mask and the radio he made in the loo. I know he loved his shed and to potter in the garden, I wish I knew him more. Nana and Grandpa came out to South Africa when I was born and he held me as a baby, I like knowing this and seeing the photo that was taken.
