Grandma Hazel was the person who welcomed me to Melbourne and to St Joseph's parish, Collingwood. She had a wonderful, positive outlook on life, always seeing the humour in events and open to everyone. She encouraged new life and the best in everyone. She was a joy to be with, lived life with dignity and courage. I remember sharing her Meals on Wheels dinners and the many cups of tea. When the children were babies, and we lived in Clifton Hill, visiting Grandma was one of our frequent outings. She introduced the boys to the piano and to drinking tea. I always liked to see her before a trip overseas and am so pleased that I did again this time. I am sorry to not be there to celebrate her life and share in the many wonderful memories that will be shared at her funeral. We are in Paris and photoed "her street" here on Sunday, she must have been travelling with us. Here is to a life well lived, Thank you Hazel for your love and all that you taught me.
