We met Ed and Mabel when I was attached to the British Consulate in Taiwan. They lived about a quarter of a mile away in the village of Tien Meu and were both very kind to us during our two year stay on the island. We joined them on the golf course occasionally as their guests and also for a meal at their home from time to time, when Ed would regale us with his latest fight with the Taiwanese authorities............. That was all in the mid 1960s but we both still have fond memories of those days. Tony and Pat Green
