How could I possabily narrow my memories of Darryl!!! He was like my father, brother, driving teacher, He was the person who took me to get my drivers license, he always seemed to be there when ever you needed someone. He helped me get throught my first broken heart. He was at my High School graduation. The more I sit here the more I realize how much in my life Darryl has played a major rule. He always reminded me of how he was there for me no matter what. We didn't always see eye to eye. There was always arguements over the radio. I have to admit he sure counld move those feet on the dance floor. I could go on forever because I know Darryl you are unforgetable..I Will Miss You soooo much..

I just remembered another part of that day I spent with Darryl. While we were driving around he told an old story about his previous wife barring him visits with his kids. To get around this, he had a job as a school bus driver. And when he got the chance he would take the route that would let him pick up his kids so he would have a short chance to see them. That was so touching.

I'm so glad that the east coast family all got to see Darryl in April for the sad occasion of his mother (Grandma) passing. While he was out here, my Mom (Dawn-ee), Darryl and I took a trip to DC in drizzly weather to see what was left of the cherry blossoms and walk around the monuments. We were all in happy company. Afterwards I tried to navigate us to a particularly great Italian deli for lunch. It's in a dumpy industrial part of DC. When we found the place it was closed (Monday I think), and in desperation we went to the only other apparent option - a shack of a restaurant with Korean/Asian food. I somehow thought that a seafood pancake sounded ok, but was unable to eat more than a bite because it was nothing but eggs and bright purple octopus parts. Mom and Darryl seemed to enjoy their choices. It was fun to have the chance to spend time with Darryl after not seeing him for so long, and I heard a lot of stories about Holly and Amy and his house and family, and Geek Squad, too. Later that day we dropped Darryl off in Anne Arundel Co., at Chas's home. I was happy to meet again this part of the family that had been so distant to me. I do wish we had all been closer together through the years. And I just wanted to share my sadness that your father, a selfless, hardworking champ, has passed away. I'll keep him in my memory. -Christy Brown

My memory of Darryl is when I asked permission from him in taking his daughter Holly's hand in marriage. Even though I knew he would say yes, I was still nervous. I knew how important his girls were to him and assured him I would take care of them. Darryl was someone I looked up to, and will miss him dearly. Other things I remember are going swimming at the house, that funny little laugh he did, and getting those laughs from him from things I said. Darryl was a good husband, father, grandfather, and all around american. I know he would have been an outstanding father-in-law. I am just glad I was fortunate enough to know him for these past 3 years. I am a better person for it. Rest in Peace Darryl!!! You can rest easy now because I will take care of your girls for you.....I promise!!! I miss you and love ya.

I already wrote a lot of my own memories of Dad when I made this page up, but here's another one... the NHRA drag races, 09. Dad and I went just the 2 of us!! We had soo much fun, trying to get autographs and pictures with the drivers. We usually went with other people in past years, but this last year we went just the 2 of us. And it was perfect!! I am so glad to have this memory and so many more!!
