Some of the memories I have of my brother (which was many) was when we went on a trip to Yosemite and drove all the way up the coast towards Sacramento... Stopping in San Francisco and then back down to Yosemite with some other family members. During the trip we went through many adventures. We fell asleep near a cliff in the pitch dark and a man had to tell us our feet were hanging off, we visited Haight Ashbury and Fisherman's Warf, we saw the redwoods, we traveled through a hippie commune, we had bears all around our car at Yosemite, and he took a bath with soap near a waterfall. Those were some of my fondest and most remembered times with my brother.

I wish so much that I got to know my Uncle when he was well and not hindered by health problems. What amazes me though, is that even though I did not get to communicate with him well, I could still see and feel how much he loved the family around him... and in return, we loved him. He brought out the strongest feelings in us of love, determination, togetherness, and so much more. His presence showed how strong our family can be no matter what happens to any of us. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family (no matter how crazy we all can be sometimes, lol). Through thick and thin we are all closely bonded, and not because we feel we have to... but because we truly feel that much love in our hearts for one another. Thank you Uncle Carlos for bringing out the good in all of us. Thank you for letting love conquer anything that's ever hindered you. Getting the chance to have you in my life 25 years is a blessing and a miracle. I didn't need your words to know your love for us. It was always there, and I love you for it. I know you will always be with us. Your body was just a vessel. Your spirit and memories will live on forever in our hearts. Nothing will ever take that away.

I still remember the times he took my brother and I to concerts and the movies. I still remember the time I spilled a glass of milk all over him for picking on me. I remember when he showed me how to give the middle finger ( my mom wasn't happy), but still was pretty funny. Everytime I listen to classic rock, I think of you, and every morning I drive that stretch of road early in the morning, I think of you. My uncle was a cool, funny, loving person. He loved life and he loved his daughters very much. He loved his family and his friends. I just want to say I love you and I know that death is not the end. God Bless you and Thank You for the memories.

I have so many memories of my uncle, but some of the fondest memories i have were from the early 80's. Times my brother and I spent at his house in Ontario on the weekends, helping my uncle at his job (costa mesa golf course) in the early saturday mornings and then him taking us to the movies..some of the movies he took us to watch that i will always remember are all the Star Wars movies, the Blues Brothers, Purple Rain, and many great 80's now classics. some of the best concerts in my life were because of my uncle ( Rolling Stones 1981,The Blasters 1982, Men at Work 1982, US festival 1983 and many more)..my uncle was a big part of my life even though his life changed in 84..it was sad but at the same time it brought our family together even more..just monday he did the same brought us all together again..thanks Uncle Carlos for being part of my life and for being the greatest Uncle ever..Love you!

Everyone always laughs when I tell this story. A few years ago when I was living at the house with grandma & grandpa I happened to walk into the kitchen and my dad was sitting there with a donut in his hand. Right away I asked grandma if it was okay for him to eat it. She immediately paniced and told me to take it out of his hand. That it was terribly bad for him because of his diabetes. I tried to pull it out of his hand but he hand a death grip on this donut. He was not going to give it up. He started to cry and say "no" as I pleaded for his to let it go. After about 5 minutes of me trying to loosen his fingers grandma said to just let him have.
