When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a sole set free Miss me a little---But not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember me and what we shared Miss me----But let me go For this is a journey that we must all take And each must go alone It's all a part of the master plan A step on the road to home......

I remember when i first met Carl properly. My step-father had moved out of his rented house into his new girlfriends unit and left me in his vacant house. Despite the rumors that were spread around about me which were quite nasty, Carl sent Warren to where i was and told him not to return without me even though he was told to keep his son away from me. I was so scared not knowing what kind of greeting i was going to get or what he was even thinking about me. Carl welcomed me with open arms finally someone was willing to give me a chance to prove these rumors will just a nasty person not getting what they wanted. Warren use to go and do alot of things with his mates so Carl and i would sit there day in day outplaying cards, dice games and just talking...I never did win a game either....If you knew Carl you would know why..lol....When i gave birth and came home Carl was such a proud Poppy. I was worried about him being woken in the middle of the night by Amy but to my surprise he would get up with me and help. He never complained about having a baby in the unit or the early morning crying that woke him. Warren and i got our own place not far from Carl, We would go over there at least 3 times a week to do his shopping, pay the bills, and our usual dice and card games...still never winning of course..lol...Over the years we moved countless times, Carl moved to Cairns but after a year or two he had to return due to his health. Carl was blessed with three more beautiful granchildren which he adored dearly. He loved it when they came to visit which unfortunately with us wasn't alot but the times we had were awesome. I will never forget the millions of things that Carl has done for me i truely believe that he plays a major part in where i am today. For this words will and can never express how grateful and thankful i am to him. I will always love and miss you and you will never ever be far from any of us ever. I still can't believe that you are gone and that it has been a year already. As time goes by the pain will weaken and we will all be together again one day. Thank you for everything..xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox.

My memory of Carl is that he was an understanding man who had a lot of love inside. I met Carl just over 16 years ago, my first impression was the gentle giant he stood tall, he loved to play cards and on several occassions I would give him a game. But most of all I would Like to thank Carl for everything he did for my daughter, god bless you Carl and even though your family are still hurting we all know you are somewhere looking over them and protecting them.Keep playing cards and when we meet one day I will be first to give you a game.

My dad was my everything and more. He was always there for me, he never judged me for any decision I made both right or wrong. He suffered abuse from my boyfriend and father of my son, but still saw fit to treat him like a human being, god knows I wouldn't have. He was such a cheater at sport and card games, but if you knew it and turned a blind eye it was quite funny. He had a ferocious temper when triggered, I am thankful I only saw that I think maybe twice in my life. He was hurt severely by my mother over and over again, and yet when she was seriously ill in hospital he cried when he thought she wasn't going to make it. He used to ring her every couple of days to see how she was doing. I think deep inside his love for her never diminshed. There are gaps in my life when dad wasn't around but they fail in comparison to the times he was around. After his amputation operation and once he was settled again back at his flat, every friday we used to wheel across the road to the pub and play the pokies. I miss that the most, we used to laugh and fight. I miss him so much and I just hope that whereever he is now, that he is not in pain and he is watching over me and proud that we continue to prosper and grow.
