Many years ago I attended a weekend retreat where Father Joe Grech (prior to him becoming a Bishop) was also in attendance. His many words of wisdom touched me immensely at that time, however, one thing he said has always stayed with me. He said I quote "You do your best and God will do the rest".Thank you Bishop Joe Grech for giving me such a powerful way to remember you by. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE.

We always liked to hear Bishop Joe doing his homily, with great passion and dedication of his faith. We were glad we listened to him twice last year when he came here in Beechworth and Myrtleford. He was a great ambassador of the Catholic faith. We heard the passing of Bishop Joe from a friend(Beth) when we were holidaying in Victor Harbour near Adelaide. We were all shocked and had a little prayer for him. Then we decided to attend the funeral in Bendigo before going home to Beechworh. His funeral was sad, solemn but a fitting tribute to a person who was full of life and had compassion to all people, young and old. We all gonna miss him so tenderly. Goodbye Bishop Joe. Rest in peace. We know you still looking down at us with that beautiful smile. Lourdes, Steve, Carl and Frankie

Even though I am not a deeply religious person and am not of the Catholic faith, I really enjoyed going to Bishop Joe's masses. He inspired me with his compassion, conviction and his belief. He had a personal touch, a beautiful smile and was very kind. I am very lucky that I met Bishop Joe and am deeply honoured to have been blessed by him. He will be sadly missed.

When I heard of the passing of Bishop Joseph Grech, I had to think back to the times I shared with Bishop Joe, when he visited our town Echuca and when he came to the Bishop's Dinner at St. Mary's College of Melbourne University. I am so glad that I went to this dinner and was able to meet such an incredible man in person! Bishop Joe, you will be sorely missed, you touched so many people's hearts, directly and indirectly. The new Bishop will have very big shoes to fill. May you rest in peace.
