Hey grandad, thinkin about you again today...another christmas without you, its never the same...! You got a great grandchild on the way...if its a boy im calling it Barney, its a variation on Barry because i wanted to call the baby after you but (no offence) Barry is a bit too old fashioned haha!! Im sure you understand! Anyway, im sure you woulda loved to have seen him an ill tell him all about you....Love you xxxxxxx

When Barry and I used to work together, he once went to the toilet and has he flushed it he coughed and his false teeth went into the toilet and were flushed out... he had us lifting the drains to see if we could find it his teeth. I t was so funny... At times we would decorate his living room and stay up through the night doing it, we always had a laugh and joke. He was the best father in law anyone could hope to have.

Cheryl, I was touched by your tribute to your grandad. He seemed like a lot of fun. I would have loved to have a beer or two with him at the pub. He adored his family and he loved life--that really comes through. What more can you really hope for in this life? His legacy and spirit live on in your hearts now. May God bless and keep him forever...Noor (U.S.A)

My memory of Barry was when we used to work together. We were doing a joinery course back in 1990. He went to the toilet and has he flushed the toilet he coughed and he lost his munches down the toilet. He had me lifting all the drains to see if we could find them... we never did... it was a laugh.....

For the last time; he approached the table, Studied the layout closely, Looked across the green baize sea, There was a hush in the crowd and they knew, This would be Barry's Last game, He took his position and steadied his cue, And a break of amazement commenced, Red, black, red, black, The Balls were totally obedient, Heading for a maximum now, the elusive 147, Referee counting the break, Barry could see and hear nothing but the table and balls, He felt his mouth go dry and crossed back to his seat, Taking a drink of ice cold bitter, And a drag from his cigarette, He returned to the table and continued his break, He heard the ref call out, "One Hundred and Forty Seven." Barry opened his eyes and smiled an enigmatic smile, The morphine coursing through his body, His wife by his side, And a few moments later, My good friend, Barry, Died. So I raise a glass in your Memory, And this toast I make to you "to the man who taught me how to live." May you make many 147's on that great snooker table in the sky my friend.

When we went to the Carlton on the beer, my grandma was bad with her legs so she couldnt dance with my grandad any more....now my grandad loved a boogie, and since my mum was too shy to get up and dance it was down to me!! Although i did used to step on his toes a lot!!! xxx
