My first memory of Annie was when she was pregnant with Jess. I was also expecting Sera at the same time so we shared those precious pre-baby months together and talked excitedly about their pending births. Jess was born one day before Sera so Annie and I were able to watch them grow, share their milestones and and we felt blessed that we had both had a beautiful little girl each. Sera and Jess became wonderful friends as did Annie and I and that friendship has remained for nearly 27 years. I am so grateful for those precious days! I respected Annie's gentle, gracious and kind nature and was forever grateful that she was so good to Sera and I, often babysitting, even when I had to go overseas for a number of weeks. Annie is a true friend, expecting little but giving so much. Even when she was in hospital recently, she managed to make us smile with her lovely, familiar sense of humour which made us admire her even more. Annie's love for Jess is a bond that will never be broken. Jess represents Annie's light, her beauty and her life's wish. There is no finer love than what they have. Stay strong Jess and enjoy this wonderful world as I know you will, in honour of your beautiful Mum.
You can see it in their eyes, in tender hugs and long good-byes, a love that only moms and daughters know. You can see it in their smiles, through passing years and changing styles, a friendship that continually seems to grow. You can see it in their lives, the joy each one of them derives, in just knowing that the other one is there... To care and to understand, lend an ear or hold a hand, and to celebrate the memories they share.
I've known Annie since the day I was born. Being one day younger than Jess, we were inseparable from birth. Annie helped raise me and I'm forever grateful for her love and support. Almost every day, if not every second day was spent with Jess and Annie. She was so devoted to Jess and I'm sure her spirit is still right beside Jess, watching over her. She lived for her daughter and was so proud. Annie had an amazing grace about her that will will never be forgotten. So much love to Jess and the Donohue family. xxx
