I only discovered andrew britton a month ago, and was instantly impressed. as an avid reader of the espionage genre and an aspiring author myself, there were so many things i admired about his writing style, so i was devastated to learn of his death - and shocked at how young he was - just a few years older than myself. as far as i am concerned, each one of his books is right up there with the best of tom clancy, brad thor, daniel silva, and barry eisler. he will be missed.

IF I could have picked a son Andrew, I would have picked you. Your great sense of humor, your spirit your style. Your amazing love and affection, the joy in your smile , that ole Irish twinkle in your eye when you looked at us straight faced and tried to lie. Life holds many surprises , and you where mine, from the day they first to...ld me I was carrying you inside till the day that you so unexpectedly left us with a river to cry. I just loved knowing you watching you grow and since you left the healing is painful and slow. Yesterday you would have hit 30 a landmark in your life. WE raised a glass to you. To you past, to you present, to you always in our hearts . Happy 30th birthday Darling Andrew from all the family & Friends who will always love you and miss you xxxx

I am an avid reader of writers like Tom Clancy, James Patterson, Kyle Mills, Barry Eisler, Brad Thor, and Vince Flynn. These men are some of the most well known writers of the genre and have accomplished so much. However, after reading The American, I knew I had discovered the newest and most talented of writers. My heart goes out to his family and friends that have been stripped of so much more than just his talent. He was and is my favorite author and I only wish that the world would have had a chance to experience his ability to the fullest.

Like many others I have only just discovered Andrew having just finished reading The Assassin Yesterday (24th May 2010) and having read the preview of The Invisible at the end of the book thought I MUST BUY IT, going on Amazon I am totaly stunned to find out that this super young author has passed away. Who knows what wonderful books he would have written in the future.
I wish only thebest for his family and hope that his ghost writer can do a great job finishing the manuscripts that Andrew has left us all.

I "discovered" Andrew a few months ago, after reading "The American" I couldn't wait for the next one, and then "the Invisible". I always read the short author notes in the back, and was very confused to see his birth-death dates in the third note. I thought an error had been made...this young man could not have passed away. How very sad..a young man of such promise, living his dream and excelling at such a young age. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends. I am so glad his mother is continuing his legacy. What better memorial could he possible have.

    Kate
