Al was my neighbour ever since we moved in next door to him and Norma in 1986. I will always remember Al for being busy around the house and garden and his pride in his car, keeping everything ship-shape and for being a steadfast, reliable, honest, helpful and caring man. The best neighbour you could want to have. He was always so fit and spritely, I had no idea he was 86. A truly top bloke was Al - a genuinely good man, who was a great support to his dear friend Norma. I will miss seeing the light on in his front room at night, where I knew he was busy writing letters, as he was an avid correspondent. We will truly miss him and we will always remember him.
