McHale was found dead by his friend in his Tampa-area home. Police say foul play is not suspected.
McHale is a former American football guard in the National Football League. During his career he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins from 1987 to 1995. He played college football at Cornell.
