Services: Funeral Mass to celebrate the lives of Steven and Sheryl (Kesterson) Sueppel and their children Ethan, Seth, Mira and Eleanor will be at held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Ken Kuntz will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday parking will apply for both the visitation and the funeral service.

Steven Sueppel was born Aug. 13, 1965, in Iowa City, the son of William and Patricia Tierney Sueppel. Steven was a graduate of Regina High School in Iowa City and the University of Northern Iowa, where he received his bachelor's degree in business.

Sheryl was born Feb. 21, 1966 in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Gisela Frey Kesterson. Sheryl was a graduate of City High School in Iowa City and the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in education.

Steven and Sheryl were married on June 13, 1990 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City.

Ethan, 10, was born Nov. 2, 1997. Ethan was in fourth grade at Longfellow School. Ethan played cello, golfed and enjoyed playing soccer.

Seth, 8, was born July 1, 1999. Seth was in second grade at Longfellow School. Seth loved animals, music and liked to garden, especially vegetables and flowers.

Mira, 5, was born March 25, 2001. Mira was in kindergarten at Longfellow School. Mira would have celebrated her 6th birthday this week. She loved to be the boss.

Eleanor, 3, was born Oct. 31, 2004. Eleanor was the little princess. She loved to dress up and play with her Barbie dolls. She liked to wear her tights and tap shoes.

Such a tragedy. Why let your family suffer along with you? Those kids were better off in their own country.
