Bushwalker found after six days
Queensland Police say a body found in the Gold Coast hinterland is missing bushwalker Robert Young.
The 65-year-old Bli Bli man became separated from a group he was walking with in the Lamington National Park on Saturday afternoon.
Police and SES volunteers searched a wide area of the park and Army personnel joined the effort today.
Another bushwalker reported seeing a body last night and a helicopter winched police and a paramedic into the area this morning.
They hiked through the rugged terrain to the area where the body was found.
Police say it appears Mr Young fell while attempting to climb a ridge.
Mr Young's brother Peter has thanked searchers for their efforts.
"We wish we had a better outcome but at least we have one now and we can go home and grieve by ourselves," he said.
