Honorable Soldier and Loving Son

John K. Daggett, 21, of Phoenix; sergeant, Army. Daggett died May 15, 2008 of injuries suffered May 1 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle in Baghdad. He died in Halifax, Canada, while en route from Iraq to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The plane was diverted to Canada when his condition worsened. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
