Gianfranco Ferre was a fashion designer. He was born on August 15, 1994. He began his fashion career in 1970 working first as an accessory designer then as a raincoat designer and in 1974 he started his own company, Baila. The designer also worked as artistic director for Christian Dior from 1989 to 1997.

Ferre’s clothes were especially popular with American women looking for an elegant, sophisticated look.

After being hospitalized with a brain haemmorhage he died on the June 17, 2007. Ferre was known as the “architect of fashion” and his amazing designs will live on in the fashion world.
