About

Betty Leaves A Beautiful Legacy

Betty Vail adopted everyone.   She raised five sweet, Christian Children.  She raised her niece  Patsi.  She raised her 2 Grand Children Steve and Dana Joy, She was a strong, smart person.  Hard to pull anything over on.  Betty Vail  leaves a legacy of  "Joy"  her middle name.  A legacy of truth and love, and of all the important things that you take with you home with God.  Betty liked to sing and play the guitar and she had 2 very musically talented Chidlren WC and Alan. WC plays bass guitar and Alan plays piano, guitar, vocals, song writer,  you name it. Betty's favorite song to play and sing is "I'll fly away".  I enjoyed them all joining in putting on a music show in their living room.  Betty lost her husband in 1987.  Walter"John" Colquitt Vail Sr. served the US Marines,  in Iwojima. They named  their first son after his buddy who died in a fox hole in the war, named "Donald Edward",.   Betty is survived by her 5 children, Don, Donna Faye, "WC" Walter Colquit Jr.,  Deborah Joy  and  John "Alan" Vail.  Grand Children, Stephen, Dana Joy.  Other nieces and nephews and such.

She was a very active 79 year old.   She was still in the midst of raising Dana Joy, age 14, took her to school every morning and all the etcetera's that come with raising a teen aged girl.  A very sweet little girl!  Betty Vail and family may not have always had the best of circumstances, but they had each other.  Family was important to them.  And they had all of the important things that really count.  Happiness, Hope, God, Joy, Peace and Love.  If you know this family, you know they are made up of a special kind of sweet that draws you near.  Betty Vail leaves this beautiful legacy.

God Bless you Betty Joy as you Glow in Paradise Today and Forever in the Presence of God.

Memories

Betty's Granddaughter

Angela (Jun 24, 2008)

Betty Joy Bobo Vail is my grandmother as well, however, I don't seemed to be mentioned on this page neither is her other grandchildren. I am also named after her (Angela Joy). She is the most unselfish and sweet person I have ever known and was always there for her family. Even though I was not included on this web site I know that I was loved and included in my Nanny's heart. I lived with Nanny until I was 18 yrs. old on and off during my childhood and remember running and hiding when my parents would come pick me up after work because I didn't want to leave her. She was the first to know when I was getting married and when I was going to have my first child. (I have two children, her great grandchildren who are also not mentioned on here).

Her playing her guitar singing, and Alan joining in and they just through their own little concert! The JOY in her name... really shown through to her life and children.
